Sustainable Solutions for Reducing Deer Impact

Impact Assessments
With years of field experience and formal training, we provide meaningful, data-driven assessments of deer populations and their impact on your land. Using advanced tools like thermal imagers, drones, and systematic deer counts, we deliver accurate, reliable insights to help make informed management decisions.
Wild Deer Management
With extensive experience and formal qualifications, Durnovaria Deer Management uses best-practice techniques to deliver tailored, effective deer control. Our approach improves crop yields, protects habitats, and supports biodiversity—whether through large-scale culls or targeted population management.
We work transparently, providing clear reports on visits, observations, and cull numbers, while always prioritising safety and animal welfare, even in high-access areas. Regular monitoring ensures dynamic, informed management, building long-term partnerships with landowners to achieve productive land, thriving wildlife, and sustainable habitats.
Documentation
We maintain comprehensive records and provide full transparency in all aspects of our operations. These records allow landowners and stakeholders to monitor management practices, support annual reporting, and demonstrate the positive impact of deer management. Documentation can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
All work is carried out under valid risk assessments and method statements, protecting landowners, estate managers, and authorising parties. These documents are strictly followed and periodically reviewed by trained and competent personnel to ensure safety and compliance at all times.

Carcass Handling
All deer culled as part of the management plan enter the food chain via a purpose built approved larder facility, ensuring a top quality, healthy and free range venison entering the local food chain through our trusted regulated partners. We pride ourselves in the presentation and handling of deer from the moment the animal is culled to the second it leaves our facility, full traceability, consistency and quality. We are passionate about harvesting the biological surplus and promote the use of local wild venison.
Our facility and network ensures we always have an outlet for all carcasses, allowing the continuation of management activities.
Park and Farm Deer Services
Our specialist deer park and farmed deer management services focus on maintaining herd health, controlling population size, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Healthy, well-balanced herds not only reduce the risk of disease and costly complications but also safeguard the genetics, appearance, and welfare of your stock. We provide structured culling, herd assessments, and breeding management to achieve the optimal balance of age and sex ratios, ensuring herds remain strong and productive.
By preventing overpopulation, we protect grazing availability, minimise stress within herds, and maintain the visual quality that deer parks are renowned for. This proactive approach maximises returns for owners and custodians, while delivering the highest standards of welfare and management..
Revenue Generation
Deer management techniques can provide landowners with opportunities for additional revenue as well as increased crop yields.
If managed correctly this can be mutually beneficial to deer population, crop yields, biodiversity and landowners. There are a number of ways this can be achieved. All revenue generated from deer management techniques are fully transparent and documented to the land owner/ stake holder.

Training & Experience
We believe that training and experience are vital in providing effective deer management, we are consistently investing in courses to further our knowledge and experience to provide land owners/managers with the best service we possibly can. With Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 & 2, Advanced Deer Management (Lantra), First aid at work as well as other relevant vocational qualifications. We are well positioned professionally to offer unbeatable deer management services.
Humane Dispatch
With rising Deer Vehicle Collisions across the UK, many deer suffer unnecessarily. While Dorset police handle humane dispatch on highways, injured deer often make it to private land before couching with often fatal injuries. Injuries aren’t limited to roads—fences and other obstacles can also cause harm. Using trained tracking dogs, we carefully follow up on mobile injured animals and humanely dispatch. Humane Animal Dispatch (HAD) is the most compassionate way to end suffering. At Durnovaria Deer Management, we’re committed to supporting landowners—offering discreet, 24/7 HAD services to ensure the welfare of deer. Even if you already use other deer management services, we’re happy to step in and help whenever necessary—always with no obligation or expectation of stalking rights. Our priority is ending unnecessary suffering.
Tracking Services
We are proud to have the support of our own specially trained tracking dog, who accompanies all culling activities. In the extremely unlikely event that a follow-up is required, he can quickly and humanely locate any deer, ensuring high welfare standards are maintained.
Beyond our own operations, we are also happy to discreetly assist other stalkers in the area and support landowners with wounded deer resulting from road traffic collisions or other factors. With extensive training and hands-on experience, our tracking dog is a reliable and essential part of our deer management services.
